Plinths Guide

What is a plinth?

A plinth is the platform or base of a column, pedestal or statue. It often serves to support the whole figure but may be used for other purposes such as serving as an anchoring point for sculpture or merely lending physical grandeur by providing a feature base to an eye-catching cake or decoration for an event.

Party hosts love their versatility as they take up less space than a table or similar, which can be useful in many venues. They create an eye-catching feature in your event space as well.

But most importantly, they provide a stable and aesthetic podium for your party. Put your decorations on top of your party cake, and create a centrepiece to wow guests and provide a photo opportunity to create a memory from your event.

How to make a plinth?

If you have the right tools, making a plinth can be quite straightforward. Buy the correct materials, cut them to the desired height, and simply glue or bind the boards together to form a box.

Next, decide how you want to decorate the plinth. It should match your style but you can choose to simply paint it in an eye-catching colour, or decorate it with glitter, stickers or other items.

If you’re not looking to get carried away with a DIY project you can simply hire a plinth in the correct colours to match your theme. Easily have the plinths delivered and picked up at the end of your event.
