Created in the 1960s, the dish became an instant hit with its unique combination of thin steak, mozzarella cheese, mayonnaise, olives, and bacon. Australian-born Uruguayan Marty and his Kiwi wife Anna brought this authentic Uruguayan delicacy to Melbourne, using fresh ingredients and drawing inspiration from the street carts of Uruguay. Everything is cooked fresh to order from their unique rustic-looking food van, complete with a terracotta roof and vintage lanterns.
